Meet Greet and Eat

During the summer, we have many international students who come to Lake George to work and to experience our culture. Though all of the J-1 visa students have some proficiency in English, it is a goal for them to become more fluent. The Meet-Greet-Eat sessions are a way for members of our community to contribute to this goal. We hope that through our informal Monday afternoon sessions, students will learn to know each other and to develop their English-speaking skills. The afternoons vary depending upon the volunteers. Some people bring books, maps and games, and we supply light refreshments. If interested in joining a session, please call our office, 518-668-2001 or just show up!

J1 Volunteers needed: Please help us welcome our International Workers through our Meet, Greet, Eat from 3:00 – 5:00 pm on Mondays in June and July. Or, bring a dish to pass for the J1 Welcome Dinner or take a worker on a boat ride, hike, or outing of your choice. Contact Kitty Lobban for more information
